Ville sewage pump: new SOLID impeller hydraulic efficiency of 81%
December 18, 2023
Ville produced with new impeller sewage pump, the sewage pump is not easy to block, at the same time with high efficiency. Known as "SOLID" (Safe Operation Logic Impeller Design), this structure is designed for raw sewage with a high solids content. This pump compensates for the application disadvantages of other standard impeller types in raw sewage applications and optimizes pump operation. This newly developed sewage pump with a new impeller takes into account the fact that the solids in the sewage have increased and that the water erosion becomes more and more severe. In recent years, users have become fully aware of resource conservation problems and want to consume less water resources; besides, with the application of water-saving technologies, per capita water consumption has been declining. In 1991, the average water consumption per person in Germany was still 144 liters and it has been reduced to 122 liters by 2007. Especially for the inclusion of raw, unfiltered sewage, the balance between trouble-free operation and energy saving is often compared difficult. The geometry of the impeller and the casing of the pump are the decisive factors here. The new "SOLID" impeller combines the high efficiency provided by single-channel and multi-channel impellers with the reliability of Vortex impellers to provide not only optimal hydraulic characteristics for optimal efficiency and economical operation, but also a high degree of Reliability and operational safety, no problems arise when pumping sewage containing large amounts of solid material. The "SOLID" impeller from Ville offers 600 liters / second flow and up to 60 meters head. Its most important feature is the flow-optimized geometry designed to avoid the gradual deposition of solid material. This new pump series can provide DN100 to DN350 nominal diameter. Ville said the sewage pump with the new impeller achieves up to 81% hydraulic efficiency, setting a new benchmark for energy efficiency and economical raw sewage treatment. Compared to the Vortex impeller, the SOLID impeller saves almost a quarter of the cost of electricity for the operation of the pump. Another advantage is that the symmetrical structure of the impeller and the flow guidance defined by the suction port significantly reduce vibrations. This significantly reduces vibrations compared to single-channel impellers. The new "SOLID" impeller can also be processed using "Wilo-Ceram" coatings to reduce corrosion and erosion of the pump when used in aggressive fluids to further extend its service life.
