Hydraulic design of centrifugal pump

March 30, 2024
The hydraulic design of centrifugal pumps must solve three problems:

1) The main parameters of the flow-through part, and the optimal ratio of parts of the part.

2) Flow pattern design, selecting the flow law of the flow-through components selected during the hydraulic design process. For example, the distribution of the circumferential velocity of the volute, the distribution of the flow volume around the impeller, and the distribution of the axial velocity. These distributions are pre-design assumptions.

3) The design of the impeller blade and the runner's profile, providing the processed wood model of the overflow component.

Centrifugal pumps should achieve the following in the hydraulic design process:

1) Ensure that the requirements for design parameters are met, ie flow and lift requirements;

2) Make the centrifugal pump have good energy performance, ie high hydraulic efficiency, and the high efficiency area is as wide as possible;

3) Have good cavitation and cavitation performance, reduce the efficiency drop caused by cavitation;

4) Good stability, low pressure pulsation and noise;

5) As small as possible to reduce the cost;

6) Meet the requirements of some special operating conditions, such as special requirements for deep wells, diving and high sediment flow;

7) Satisfy the requirements of manufacturing and other processes.
